Background and Aim:Food security is one of the most fundamental principles of sustainable development. It encompasses various dimensions, including the availability of food, access to food, food consumption and the stability of food consumption. Food security can both be a cause and a consequence of sustainable development and is interrelated with factors such as poverty, migration and instability. This study examines the relationship between different dimensions of food security and these three factors, particularly in developing countries. Methods:This research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach based on statistical data and credible academic sources concerning poverty, migration and instability. The study analyzes the impact of these factors on food security. Ethical Considerations:Writing the present reasearch, While respecting the originality of the texts, honesty and trustworthinrss have been observed. Results:The research findings indicate that poverty is one of the primary threats to food security, negatively affecting both consumers and producers. Poverty reduces producers' ability to procure raw materials, leading to a decline in supply and limiting consumers' access to food products. Rural-to-urban migration and the displacement of nomadic communities in societies reliant on traditional production methods are additional threats to food security, as they decrease supply while increasing demand. Consequently, food security in all its dimensions is compromised. Moreover, instability in food production and consumption systems - caused by factors such as water crises, loss of agricultural land and climate change - poses significant threats to food security. These disruptions affect all aspects of food security, leading to its overall decline. Conclusion:Poverty, migration and instability are three principal causes of food insecurity. To enhance food security, policymakers must implement strategies aimed at poverty reduction, effective management of production resources and the promotion of sustainable development. Advancing technological capabilities in food production and maximizing economic equality can also contribute significantly to improving food security.
